FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

THINGS TO KNOW:

So there’s a minimum age?

Yes! You must be 18 or older to join the adventure.

Can I get a refund? Or transfer to another camp/year/person?

We keep it simple—registrations are final. No refunds, transfers, or reschedules. Make sure you’re all-in before signing up.

What if I’ve never camped before?

You’ll fit right in. A lot of women come to camp having never pitched a tent or built a fire before. We’ll send a packing list, camping tips, and everything you need to know before the weekend. Your Campsite Host will help your group get prepared, too. You’ll learn by doing. That’s part of the fun.

What if I don’t know anybody going?

Honestly, that’s pretty normal. A lot of women come solo. Before camp, your Campsite Host will connect everyone in your group so you can start getting to know each other ahead of time. By the end of the weekend, most women are wondering why they were nervous in the first place.

What if I don’t go to church?

Totally fine. Woman Camp includes worship, teaching, prayer, and conversations about God, but you don’t need to have church experience to come to camp. A lot of women show up unsure what they believe. Nobody’s expecting perfection or pretending out here. Just come as you are and see what happens.

How are campsites organized?

Campsites are groups of 6–10 women led by a Campsite Host. You can register with friends or let us place you in a group. Either way, camp has a way of making a big place feel small pretty quickly.

Do I need to bring my own tent and gear?

Yes. But don’t let that stop you. A lot of women borrow gear, split supplies, or share tents with friends. Your Campsite Host can help your group coordinate once campsites are assigned.

What are the bathrooms and shower situations?

This is primitive camping. There are porta-potties, handwashing stations, and drinking water throughout camp. There are no showers or sinks. Bring good wipes. Trust us.

Is there electricity or cell service?

Not really. That’s kind of the point. Most women end up using their phones way less than they expected. We have medics on site and emergency communication systems in place if something serious comes up.

Do I need to be in good physical condition?

You don’t need to be an expert camper or ultra outdoorsy to come to Woman Camp. Most campsites can park up to 3 cars nearby, which makes unloading gear pretty easy. That said, camp is still spread across rolling hills and uneven ground, so expect some walking throughout the weekend. Some campsites are closer to the main tent than others. A few can be about a 20-minute walk depending on where you’re camping. Camp asks a little more of you than a normal weekend. That’s part of what makes it meaningful.

Can I come and go during the weekend?

Woman Camp is designed to be a full-weekend experience, so we ask everyone to stay for the whole thing unless there’s an emergency. Something shifts when people fully settle in out here.

Will there be alcohol?

Yes, but it’s not the focus. Think campfire hangs. Not spring break.

I’m pregnant / have a medical concern. Can I still come?

Maybe. Woman Camp is primitive camping with uneven ground, lots of walking, and limited electricity. Many pregnant women attend every year, but we always encourage people to use wisdom and know their limits. If you have questions about whether camp is right for you, email us at womancamp@crossroads.net.

Can I bring a service dog?

Possibly. Email us at womancamp@crossroads.net beforeregistering so we can talk through your situation.

Can I gift a registration to someone?

Absolutely. During registration, select the gift option and follow the instructions in your confirmation email to send it to your friend along with a personal note.
